Iflingo Interpretation Services LLC is expanding our network of qualified Medical and Legal Interpreters for in-person assignments throughout New York City, New York State, and New Jersey.
We are looking for experienced, dependable interpreters who are passionate about providing accurate and professional language access. As an independent contractor, you’ll have the flexibility to accept assignments that fit your availability and service area while working in medical, legal, workers’ compensation, and other professional settings.
Languages Needed
We welcome qualified interpreters across all languages, with particular interest in:
Spanish, Mandarin, Cantonese, Bengali, Haitian Creole, Russian, Arabic, Urdu, Malay, French, Farsi/Persian, Dari, Pashto, Punjabi, Hindi, Gujarati, Tamil, Telugu, Nepali, Korean, Japanese, Vietnamese, Thai, Indonesian, Portuguese, Polish, Ukrainian, Serbian, Croatian, Bosnian, Albanian, Romanian, Turkish, Greek, Armenian, Georgian, Hebrew, Amharic, Tigrinya, Oromo, Somali, Swahili, Lingala, Yoruba, Igbo, Twi/Akan, Wolof, Pulaar/Fulani, Soninke, Mandinka/Mandingo, Bambara, and more.
What You’ll Do
- Provide professional in-person interpretation for medical, legal, workers’ compensation, and related appointments
- Facilitate accurate communication between clients and professionals
- Provide consecutive and, when appropriate, simultaneous interpretation
- Maintain confidentiality, impartiality, and professional boundaries
- Represent yourself and Iflingo professionally during assignments
- Communicate promptly regarding accepted assignments and availability
What We’re Looking For
- Professional interpreting experience
- Fluency in English and at least one additional language
- Interpreter training and relevant certification(s) required
- Medical and/or legal interpreting experience
- Strong knowledge of professional interpreting ethics and confidentiality
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Reliability and professionalism
- Ability to travel to in-person assignments within your selected service area
ASL interpreters and interpreters of less commonly available languages are strongly encouraged to apply.
