Job Overview:
- Employees in positions at this level of the series plan Uses current knowledge & documentation to develop clear job plans that facilitate maintenance productivity (ability to schedule effectively, quality of workmanship, utilization of labor, materials and services) to ensure safe and quality work execution.
- Improves documentation for future use to support continuous improvement of maintenance work execution.
- Works under general direction.

Typical duties of a Maintenance Planner include:
- Review new work orders for planning by priority as given by Coordinator & create proposed job plans to meet execution timing communicated by Coordinator
- Complete field scoping & review existing documentation
- Engage Supervisors, Technicians, & Reliability to support review of proposed job plans
- Create effective job packages for planned work orders containing field scoping photos, permits required, maintenance standards & procedures, P&ID’s.
- Ensure job plans and job packages are archived effectively for future use.
- Obtain information for materials and equipment required, including lead times; request quotes and order materials; receive approval from appropriate level of Plant Leadership for material expediting if necessary to meet Production & Maintenance needs.
- Track materials, services, and special tool availability; coordinate and communicate the details of materials, services, and tools to optimize Plan Execution.
- Mark work orders as Ready to Schedule once job packages are created, materials are kitted & available, & resources are verified.
- Initiate updates or creation of documentation (SAP Master Data including Bill of Materials, Procedures, P&IDs, etc.) based on gaps identified from planning and execution of work orders, or for new equipment.
- Perform job duties in a manner that follow food safety and quality guidelines including but not limited to HACCP, GMPs, QA Policies, Sanitation, and Pest Control.
