Role Summary
The Oilfield NDT Technician / Quality Assistant plays a vital role in IFE’s skid recertification process, ensuring every job is completed safely, accurately, and in full compliance with company QHSE procedures.
This position combines hands-on technical work with quality oversight responsibilities. The technician will assist in the teardown, cleaning, and inspection of monoline skid packages, while also verifying that all post-job QHSE checklists, documentation, and quality records are completed and accurate before equipment is released back into service.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform teardown, cleaning, inspection, torquing and recertification of monoline skid packages and high-pressure flowline components.
- Assist in visual and non-destructive testing (NDT) processes to identify wear, cracks, corrosion, or defects.
- Complete and verify all items on the QHSE post-job checklist, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Support the Quality and Operations teams in maintaining records, reports, and traceability of all recertified equipment.
- Tag, log, and stage equipment appropriately for rebuild or return to service.
- Conduct pressure testing, torque checks, and other verification processes under supervision.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in alignment with IFE’s QHSE standards.
- Safely operate forklifts, overhead cranes, and telelifts as required.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and teammates to ensure workflow efficiency and quality standards are met.
- Participate in safety meetings and quality reviews to drive continuous improvement across the shop.
Preferred Skills & Experience (Not Required)
- Experience with monoline skid teardown, inspection, or recertification preferred.
- Familiarity with NDT methods such as Magnetic Particle, Liquid Penetrant, Ultrasonic, or Visual Testing.
- Understanding of QHSE documentation, post-job verification, and inspection recordkeeping.
- 2 years of field or shop experience in NDT, MPI, pressure testing, or flowline inspection preferred.
- Forklift and overhead crane operation experience.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy and safety.
- Proficiency with tablets or digital reporting systems.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Ability to pass drug and background screening.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training a plus.
