Job Summary:
The Production Support Handler is responsible for providing material handling, inventory, and data entry support to ensure efficient production operations. This role involves operating a forklift, managing material flow, maintaining accurate inventory records, and updating data in the company’s ERP system (Sage or similar). The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and experienced in both warehouse and production environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Transport raw materials, components, and finished goods between production areas using a forklift or pallet jack.
- Ensure all materials are properly labeled, stored, and delivered to the correct workstations.
- Perform daily inventory checks and maintain accurate stock levels in the ERP system.
- Record material movements, usage, and adjustments in Sage or other ERP software.
- Assist in cycle counts and physical inventory processes.
- Support production by preparing material kits, packaging finished products, and staging items for shipping.
- Monitor material shortages and report discrepancies to the supervisor or purchasing team.
- Use Excel and other computer tools to update production and inventory tracking sheets.
- Maintain clean and organized work areas following 5S and safety standards.
- Collaborate with production, maintenance, and logistics teams to ensure smooth workflow.
- Assist in receiving and unloading deliveries as needed.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Forklift operation experience required.
- At least 2 years of experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, or production support role.
- Knowledge of inventory control and material handling procedures.
- Experience using ERP systems (Sage, SAP, Oracle, or similar).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and basic computer applications.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
