What are the responsibilities and job description for the CDL Class B Driver position at IEW Construction Group?
Summary:
ISC Structures has an immediate opening for an experienced, reliable Class B CDL Driver with minimum 5 years exp. Must pass background and pre-employment drug test. Must possess and maintain a Class B CDL with clean DMV record, and DOT Medical Card.
Must be familiar with safety and DOT regulations. Candidate must have experience with oversized loads and must keep vehicle operational by following operating instructions.
Essential Job Functions:
- May plan route to insure most economical use of time and equipment.
- Obtain road construction materials from storage yard and move to/from job site.
- Transport equipment.
- Perform routine inspection and preventive maintenance on assigned equipment and refer defects or repairs to supervisor; clean equipment.
- Perform all duties in conformance to appropriate safety and security standards.
- Keep accurate records and reports as required including a daily log.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications:
- Thorough knowledge of traffic laws and defensive driving.
- Skill in operation of listed tools and equipment.
- Ability to safely drive various vehicles.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with employees, supervisors and the general public.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to perform heavy manual tasks under varying weather conditions.
- Ability to make independent judgments which have moderate impacts on the organization.
- Ability to work OT as needed. Must have the ability to work flexible schedule for emergency situations.
- Daily contact requiring courtesy, discretion, and sound judgment.
- Read and understand directions and maps
- Must Have a Valid Class (B) CDL License with a clean driving record.
Hourly Rate of Pay: $28 to $34.
Tools and Equipment Used:
Transportation vehicles, dump truck, pickup truck, utility truck, and other construction equipment and vehicles.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works in outside weather conditions.
