Tool Design / Mechanical Engineer

About the RoleWe are seeking a highly skilled Tool Design / Mechanical Engineer to join our engineering team. This role is critical in transforming customer requirements into precision-designed tooling solutions for tubular components.
You’ll work at the intersection of design, manufacturing, and problem-solving—developing detailed tooling designs that directly impact production efficiency and product quality.
What You’ll Do- Design and develop tube bending and forming tooling using 3D CAD (Inventor preferred)
- Create detailed layouts, assembly drawings, and BOMs with high accuracy
- Interpret customer data (X, Y, Z or Y, B, C coordinates) to model tubular components and tooling
- Provide hands-on engineering support to production and assembly teams
- Troubleshoot design and manufacturing challenges, including rework and ECNs
- Improve existing tooling designs to enhance productivity and process efficiency
- Maintain and manage engineering documentation per company standards
- 5 years of tool design experience (tube bending/tooling experience strongly preferred)
- Proficiency in 3D CAD software (Autodesk Inventor preferred)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset
- High attention to detail with a commitment to design accuracy
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Experience with MRP systems and BOM creation
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Associate’s degree in a technical/design field required or equivalent experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred or equivalent experience
- Office-based role with collaboration across engineering and production teams
- Combination of desk work and shop floor interaction
- Work on complex, custom-engineered tooling solutions
