Position Details
- Location: Belmont, Ca.
- Schedule: Wednesdays AND Fridays ( 2 days) from 11:00-3:00 pm
- Hours: 10 hours per week, this includes preparation time (Grades 6–8 only)
- Start Date: Fall 2026

Role Expectations
- Lead a well-structured middle school Spanish program (Grades 6–8)
- Deliver instruction that is engaging, academically purposeful, and well-paced
- Maintain clear routines, transitions, and behavioral expectations
- Apply strong classroom management strategies to ensure a focused learning environment
- Hold students accountable for participation, effort, and respectful conduct
- Adapt instruction to meet varied proficiency levels without lowering rigor
- Communicate professionally with school staff and IES as needed
Program Structure & Support
- Established middle school curriculum with pacing guidance
- Instructional resources provided by IES and ongoing support
- Optional coaching support and Professional Development as needed
Teachers are given structure—but are expected to execute independently and professionally.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of experience teaching K–8 students
- Minimum 1* year of experience teaching Middle School Spanish*
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field
- Demonstrated ability to:
- Independently manage a middle school classroom with consistency and control
- Maintain high levels of student engagement and on-task behavior
- Implement effective classroom management systems
- Plan and deliver structured, well-executed lessons
- Strong professional judgment, reliability, and accountability
- Reliable transportation OR willingness to relocate
Preferred (Strongly Valued)
- Direct experience teaching middle school (Grades 6–8)
- Experience in private or Catholic school settings ideal, but not required
- Ability to balance high expectations with positive student relationships
- Familiarity with communicative or immersion-based instruction

Compensation: $35 per hour
