A/V Technician

IES Residential, Inc. is seeking a full-time A/V Technician to join our high-performing team. Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with a team of technicians on residential installations
• Run cabling through walls, ceilings, floors, and other structures
• Terminate cables using compression, crimping, and other methods
• Mount TVs, projectors, speakers, lifts, and other A/V equipment
• Perform basic testing to ensure proper installation and system performance
• Assist lead technicians to ensure installations meet quality standards
• Configure inputs/outputs for audio, video, and home entertainment systems
• Troubleshoot and service A/V equipment and control systems
• Read and interpret electronic schematics and architectural blueprints
• Maintain a safe work environment in compliance with codes and regulations

Qualifications

Education

• Some college preferred

Experience & Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of relevant industry experience preferred
• Willingness to learn and grow in the field
• Strong customer service skills
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (required for company vehicle use)
• Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening

Work Environment

• Work is performed in residential construction settings, including new builds and occupied homes
• Frequent exposure to construction conditions such as dust, noise, and varying temperatures
• Work may occur indoors and outdoors depending on project stage
• Travel to multiple job sites throughout the day is required
• Interaction with customers, builders, and other trades on-site

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift, carry, and move materials and equipment weighing 50 lbs
• Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and climbing ladders
• Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces (attics, crawl spaces, etc.)
• Manual dexterity to operate hand and power tools
• Visual acuity to read schematics, plans, and device indicators
