Job Overview:
We are seeking an IT Business Analyst to join our Enterprise Software Solutions team. In this role, you will serve as a key business representative on multiple projects, building trusted partnerships with stakeholders while learning and understanding their business needs. You will play a critical role in defining, documenting, and validating business requirements, ensuring IT solutions meet business expectations, and that solutions are properly tested. Additionally, you will partner with our change management team to support user training and documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Business Representation:
- Learn and understand the business and its processes to effectively support stakeholders and drive IT solutions.
- Identify key stakeholders and build trusted partnerships to understand their needs and requirements.
- Serve as one of the primary points of contact for stakeholders, facilitating clear communication between business and IT project teams.
- Define and Document Requirements:
- Define and document both current ("as-is") and future ("to-be") business processes.
- Elicit and visualize detailed requirements from stakeholders, translating business needs into actionable solutions.
- Create user stories with supporting detail and acceptance criteria to guide development and testing efforts.
- Clarify requirements with functional and technical resources to ensure alignment and feasibility.
- Trace and Validate Requirements:
- Conduct desk checks to ensure that development aligns with documented requirements.
- Create user acceptance and end-to-end test cases, ensuring required test data is prepared and available.
- Coordinate user testing activities, track progress, and report findings back to the project team.
- Change Management:
- Define the scope of training and required documentation, working with the Organizational Change Management (OCM) team to conduct training and create materials.
- Identify stakeholders impacted by changes and communicate necessary updates.
- Support the training process, ensuring that all end users have the tools and knowledge they need to effectively use new systems or processes.
Specific Qualifications
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Experience: 3-5 years of experience as a business analyst in an IT-focused environment.
- Technical Skills:
- Strong experience with business analysis tools such as Azure DevOps, Miro, or similar platforms.
- Expertise in documenting business processes and eliciting detailed requirements.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and software development life cycle (SDLC).
- Experience in creating test cases, user stories, and conducting validation activities.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate technical and business concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Collaboration: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across business and IT teams.
- Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving skills and a keen eye for detail, particularly in the areas of requirement gathering, process mapping, and test case creation.
- Change Management Support: Experience in working with change management teams and supporting end-user training efforts.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certifications: Business Analysis Certification or Agile Certification is a plus.
- Industry Experience: Previous experience in construction, finance, or supply chain is a plus.
- Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with ERP, HRIS, or other enterprise solutions is beneficial.
