Job Summary
- Provides safety leadership and technical support to operations and project teams, reports out safety performance
- Advises Operations Team and Project Managers on Company, contractual, and regulatory safety requirements during work planning
- Reviews site safety plans, risk assessments, permits, and related documentation; escalates issues as needed to the Senior Safety Manager
- Conducts regular job-site audits and inspections to identify hazards and ensures safe work practices and jobsite conditions
- Leads new hire and site-specific safety orientations, toolbox talks, and weekly safety meetings
- Responds to reports of incidents and safety concerns; leads, conducts and supports investigations and communicates findings with Senior Leadership as needed
- Ensures compliance with Company, customer, site, OSHA, and applicable regulatory standards; verifies and maintains required documentation
- Develops safety competencies, identification of strengths and opportunities for improvement
- Coordinates, facilitates, and tracks required safety training and maintains necessary safety certifications
- Utilizes Company safety systems and software to manage incidents, inspections, corrective actions, and training
- Monitors subcontractor activities for compliance with Company, customer, jobsite, and general contractor safety requirements
- Travel may be required.
- Degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Construction Management, or related field preferred
- OSHA 30-hour, OSHA 510, and First Aid/CPR certifications; CHST credential desired
- 5-7 years recent experience in construction safety or a related role
- Prior experience as Electrician highly preferred
- Strong understanding of construction processes and safety regulations
- Proficient computer and communication (written, verbal) skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management and field employees
- Maintaining driving qualifications as required per IES Fleet Safety Program
- Successfully pass pre-employment (post-offer) background check and MVR check.
