Job Summary
- Provides safety leadership and technical support to field employees; evaluates and reports on safety performance
- Supports safe work planning by advising operations and project managers on Company and contractual safety requirements
- Conducts new hire and site-specific safety orientations
- Leads toolbox talks and safety meetings as directed by management
- Reviews site safety plans, risk assessments, permits, MOPs, and related documentation; escalates concerns to the Senior Safety Manager as needed
- Performs daily jobsite walks to conduct audits and inspections, identify hazards, and ensure safe work practices; escalates issues as necessary
- Responds to reports of incidents and safety concerns, and participates in investigations with senior safety leadership
- Ensures compliance with Company policies, OSHA, and applicable regulatory standards; maintains required safety documentation
- Collaborates regularly with foremen, superintendents, and client safety personnel to identify and resolve safety issues
- Utilizes Company safety systems and software to track incidents, inspections, and corrective actions
- Assists with identifying training needs and coordinating required training with the Senior Safety Manager
- Maintains required safety certifications and supports ongoing professional development
- Conducts weekly safety meetings and attends project audits as requested
- Monitors subcontractor activities to ensure compliance with Company and project safety requirements
- Travel may be required.
- Education and/or training in Occupational Health & Safety, Construction Management, or related field preferred
- Prior experience as Electrician highly preferred
- OSHA 30-hour, OSHA 510, and First Aid/CPR certifications; CHST credential desired
- 3-5 years recent experience in construction safety or a related role
- Proficient understanding of construction processes and safety regulations
- Strong computer and communication (written, verbal) skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management and field employees
- Maintaining driving qualifications as required per IES Fleet Safety Program
- Successfully pass pre-employment (post-offer) background check and MVR check.
