Job Summary
- Provides safety leadership and technical support to operations and project teams, communicates safety performance
- Supports safe work planning by advising on Company, contractual, customer and regulatory safety requirements
- Reviews site safety plans, risk assessments, permits, MOPs, and related documentation
- Conducts regular job-site audits and inspections to identify hazards and ensures safe work practices
- Oversees and directs site safety team members in alignment with Senior Safety Manager guidance
- Facilitates new hire and site-specific safety orientations and required training
- Identifies safety needs, coordinates toolbox talks, and ensures regular safety meetings are conducted
- Responds to reports of incidents and safety concerns, leads root-cause investigations and corrective actions
- Verifies compliance with Company policies, OSHA, and other applicable regulations
- Maintains accurate safety documentation, permits, logs, and reports
- Collaborates with supervisors, superintendents, general contractors, and client safety teams to resolve safety concerns
- Monitors subcontractor activities for compliance with Company and project safety requirements
- Utilizes Company safety systems and software to track incidents, audits, and corrective actions
- Maintains required safety certifications and supports ongoing professional development
- Attends safety meetings, project audits, and client-requested safety reviews as needed
- Travel may be required.
- Degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Construction Management, or related field preferred
- OSHA 30-hour, OSHA 510, and First Aid/CPR certifications; CHST credential desired
- 6-10 years recent experience in construction safety or a related role
- Prior experience as Electrician highly preferred
- Strong understanding of construction processes and safety regulations
- Proficient computer and communication (written, verbal) skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management and field employees
- Maintaining driving qualifications as required per IES Fleet Safety Program
- Successfully pass pre-employment (post-offer) background check and MVR check.
