About the Role
Idyllwild Arts Summer Programs is seeking a dynamic, highly organized, and creative Summer Program Coordinator to lead our seasonal Program Team. Set in the beautiful San Jacinto Mountains, our summer programs cater to a diverse community of artists of all ages.
As the Program Coordinator you will supervise a dedicated team of 6 to 8 staff members and serve as the driving force behind the logistical success of our Adult Programs and the creative engagement of our Kids & Teens Programs. Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Management
- Directly supervise, schedule, and support a Program Team of 6 to 8 staff members.
- Delegate daily tasks effectively and foster a collaborative, positive team culture.
Adult Programs (Logistics & Setup)
- Oversee the physical setup and breakdown of artistic spaces, including studios, galleries, and exhibit areas.
- Manage the logistical coordination for public presentation spaces, ensuring artists and instructors have what they need for successful events.
- Ensure all spaces are safe, accessible, and prepared on time.
Kids & Teens Programs (Event Creation & Facilitation)
- Spearhead the design, planning, and execution of a dynamic calendar of activities for children and teenagers.
- Create and oversee large-scale "all-camp" events, targeted small group gatherings, and engaging impromptu activities.
- Cultivate a fun, inclusive, and inspiring environment that encourages camper engagement outside of their standard curriculum.
Schedule
- Varied Hours: The schedule for this role is highly varied and entirely dependent on the needs of the programming. Candidates must be flexible and prepared to work non-traditional hours, including evenings and weekends, to support events and camp activities.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in camp management, event coordination, or program leadership.
- Proven experience supervising and motivating a team.
- Strong organizational skills with an eye for detail (especially regarding event/studio setup).
- High energy, creativity, and a passion for working with youth and teens.
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing schedules and solve problems on the fly.
- Background or strong interest in the arts is highly preferred.
Salary : $4,800 - $5,600
