Primary Responsibilities
•Serve as a mentor, role model, and advocate for all students, fostering both academic and social-emotional growth.
•Deliver high-quality instruction that promotes strong foundational skills in early literacy and numeracy.
•Cultivate a positive, inclusive, and structured classroom environment using proactive and evidence-based behavior management strategies.
•Collaborate with grade-level and interdisciplinary teams to ensure consistency, equity, and excellence in teaching and learning.
•Use data-informed practices, observation, and formative assessment to assess student progress and adjust instruction to meet diverse learning needs.
•Engage families and caregivers as partners in their child’s education.
Qualifications and Desired Expertise
We are seeking a passionate, student-centered educator who brings:
•A deep understanding and practical application of the Science of Reading, including phonological awareness, phonemic awareness, phonics, vocabulary, oral language, and comprehension strategies.
•Knowledge of early mathematics instruction, particularly in developing number sense, counting skills, problem-solving, and conceptual understanding in young learners.
•Demonstrated effectiveness in implementing structured literacy and math routines tailored to kindergarten students.
•Experience with and commitment to implementing evidence-based classroom behavior management systems that support a safe and respectful learning environment.
•Strong collaboration skills and the ability to co-plan and co-teach within a professional learning community.
•Familiarity with play-based learning, and developmentally appropriate practice is preferred.
•Experience in designing and delivering differentiated instruction and assessments.
•Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with students, staff, and families.
