What are the responsibilities and job description for the CNC Swiss Lathe Operator (Day Shift) – Firearms Manufacturing position at IDL Industries?
Tired of jobs that feel like you’re just punching a clock? Want to build real, precision American firepower with your own hands (and some ridiculously cool machines)? We’re a high-energy firearms machine shop looking for our next rockstar **Entry-Level Swiss CNC Operator** to join the crew and level-up into a legit machinist. Zero experience? No problem. We’ll teach you everything from scratch on our fleet of Citizen Swiss lathes, because we love growing our own talent.
The Gig:
- Run, load, inspect, and keep our Citizen Swiss turning centers clean making the tiny, perfect parts that make guns go bang accurately.
- Start simple (bar loading, measuring like a boss, emptying the machine chips), then your future is in your hands to advance to full setups, program edits, tool life mastery, and eventually writing your own G-code wizardry.
- Work in a clean, team-oriented shop where the coffee is strong, and the parts are 100% freedom-related.
You might be our person if:
- You can show up on time, every time (seriously, this is 50% of success here)
- You’re the type who can focus, grind, and stay productive for a full shift without needing a babysitter
- Repetitive work doesn’t scare you; it actually satisfies your inner perfectionist
- Tiny tolerances and shiny metal chips make you weirdly happy
- You think firearms are cool (bonus points if you own a few or want to build your own someday)
- You want a real career, not just another “job” you’ll leave in six months
