Senior Consultant – Digital Forensics
Georgetown (Washington, DC) | Hybrid
iDiscovery Solutions (iDS) is seeking a Senior Consultant to play a key role in delivering high-stakes digital forensic investigations. This position blends hands-on forensic expertise, evidence and lab oversight, and client-facing project leadership offering the opportunity to work on complex matters alongside some of the industry’s top practitioners.
You’ll partner closely with Managing Directors, Directors, and clients to collect, analyze, and manage sensitive data, while also mentoring junior team members and helping evolve our forensic processes.
What You’ll Do
Forensic Collections & Analysis
- Lead and execute complex forensic data collections (remote and on-site) across a wide range of devices, including laptops, desktops, mobile devices, and cloud-based sources
- Analyze and extract data using industry-standard forensic tools (e.g., EnCase, FTK, Nuix)
- Serve as a go-to expert for forensic best practices and problem-solving in high-pressure environments
Evidence & Lab Management
- Oversee evidence intake, tracking, storage, and disposition, ensuring strict adherence to chain of custody protocols
- Maintain and improve lab operations, including drive inventory and evidence handling procedures
- Ensure all documentation is accurate, complete, and audit-ready
Client & Project Leadership
- Serve as a primary point of contact for clients and internal stakeholders throughout the lifecycle of a project
- Support scoping and pre-sales conversations as a technical subject matter expert
- Deliver clear, defensible results and insights to clients
Mentor
- Mentor and support junior consultants in evidence handling and forensic methodologies
- Identify opportunities to improve and automate workflows to enhance efficiency and data management
- Contribute to a collaborative, high-performing team environment
What You Bring
- 5 years of experience in digital forensics, with a strong foundation in data collection and analysis
- Experience in a consulting or professional services environment preferred
- Advanced proficiency with forensic tools such as EnCase, FTK, and Nuix
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills and the ability to engage confidently with clients and stakeholders
- Relevant certifications (e.g., EnCE, GCFE, CFCE, CCE) are a plus

Compensation & Benefits
iDS offers a competitive compensation package designed to reward performance and support your well-being:
- Base salary: $125,000 – $140,000 (commensurate with experience)
- Charge-Hour Incentive Program (CHIP) tied to utilization
- Comprehensive PPO healthcare plan (iDS covers 75% of premiums)
