Retail Assistant Manager
Responsible for running the day-to-day operations of idiom & dwell New Haven
Duties include:
Managing sales
- Meet monthly sales goals.
- Analyze sales data, set and achieve goals, and achieve forecasts for the upcoming season.
Managing customer service
- Resolve customer complaints, handle queries, and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Meet & greet customers while promoting the boutique culture of excellent customer service.
Managing store operations
- Ensure the store runs smoothly and that operations comply with company policies and regulations.
- Ensure a clean, organized, and well-merchandised shop.
Managing inventory
- Track inventory levels and coordinate with the owner to replenish top-selling items or fill gaps for missing SKUs.
- Be proactive and continually monitor for theft and reduce opportunities before they occur.
- Recommend new additions to the inventory assortment.
Managing staff
- Oversee and train sales associates, provide constructive feedback, model positive behaviors, and work with the team to improve selling skills.
- Hire and train new employees.
- Work with Kimberly to coordinate a monthly work schedule for staff and ensure prompt attendance.
- Fill in any gaps as needed.
Managing promotions
- Collaborate to implement promotions and campaigns to increase sales: monthly newsletter, social media campaign, and blog posts.

- Attend a quarterly merchant meeting
- Network and collaborate with other shops/restaurants to positively impact the community.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour
