Our reference laboratories make it possible for our customers to discover more with our unrelenting commitment to innovation, personalized support, guidance, and expertise, while providing the most complete and advanced menu of diagnostic tests along with technology and tools. In this role:

We have positions that will have you working in 2 departments, Sample Management and Parasitology:

What you’ll be doing as a Sample Management Technician:

  • You will receive, prepare, and accession veterinary samples (blood, urine, feces, and biopsies) for laboratory analysis and testing.
  • You can expect to remove specimens from transport bags and enter specimen data into a computer tracking system.
  • You will rack and bundle prepared samples for delivery to each testing department.
  • You will assist other lab personnel with specimen storage and ensuring that Turnaround Times (TAT's) are met.

What you’ll be doing as a Parasitology Technician:

  • You can learn a lot about the health of a pet from what’s happening in the litter box or backyard. In this role, you will be working with fecal samples to prepare them for analysis.
  • You will use automated analyzers, microscopes, and other laboratory diagnostic tools
  • You will be moving fecal samples through various steps as we prepare them for testing, and then you’ll load and unload the samples into our analyzers.
  • You’ll be following SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) to ensure that we move the samples through our testing process correctly and efficiently. Your work will directly help someone’s pet stay healthy.

What you need to succeed:

  • You have experience working in a fast-paced, high-volume work environment, and you thrive in that type of workplace. Examples of this could be food service jobs, warehouse positions, high-volume shipping companies, and much more.
  • You have outstanding attention to detail abilities and a proven track record of being someone who pays attention to the steps in a process.
  • A High School diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. A 2-, 3-, or 4-year degree in a Science-related field is preferred.
  • It is not required to work in our lab, but if you were a Veterinary Technician (RVT, LVT, CVT) or Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT or MT), this experience and education would be a plus.
  • You have a positive attitude and love to bring that energy into the lab every day to support your colleagues
  • You are looking forward to working in a team
  • You have a great sense of team spirit and responsibility
  • Able to meet the physical requirements that go with working in a lab – standing and sitting for extended periods of time, phone & computer use, extended reach, lifting up to 50lb, and specific vision ability – close, color, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • This is a laboratory, so there is potential exposure to biohazards, agents known to cause zoonotic diseases, and hazardous chemicals.

What you can expect from us:

  • Target hourly rate: $24.50 / hour
  • Opportunity for annual cash bonus and merit pay increase consideration
  • Health / Dental / Vision benefits from day one
  • 5% matching 401k
  • On-the-job training and career advancement opportunities
