The LCMS group within R&D Discovery and Technology Futures is looking for a creative and energetic Associate Scientist to support proteomic sample preparation for biomarker discovery and new product development.

In This Role
- You will perform hands-on sample preparation of biofluids (e.g., serum, plasma, urine) following established protocols to support biomarker validation studies.
- You will execute automated, bead-based sample preparation workflows on liquid handling systems for quantification of proteins of interest.
- You will prepare reagents and materials, perform experiments, and keep meticulous records of laboratory work in electronic lab notebooks.
- You will analyze data and prepare reports and summaries with guidance from senior scientists.
- You will be an integral part of a dynamic team that develops novel and robust quantitative proteomics assays.
- You will grow your skills — you will learn quantitative proteomics and LCMS from a team of experienced scientists.
- BS in Biochemistry, Chemistry, Biology, or a related field with 1–2 years of hands-on laboratory experience in industry or an academic lab
- Strong wet-bench fundamentals: accurate pipetting, careful sample handling, reagent and buffer preparation, and rigorous documentation
- Experience with common biochemistry or molecular biology techniques (e.g., protein assays, ELISA, electrophoresis, sample extraction); experience handling biofluids or working with liquid handling automation is a plus
- Detail-oriented, organized, and able to adapt quickly to changing priorities
- Ability to follow established protocols precisely and flag anomalies early
- Excellent communication skills and demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Curiosity and eagerness to learn new techniques, including mass spectrometry-based proteomics (no prior LCMS or mass spectrometry experience needed)
- Base annual salary target: $62K - $70K DOE

Salary : $62,000 - $70,000
