About the Role
Seeking a skilled Mid-Level Cable Technician / Installer to support network infrastructure operations within a semiconductor manufacturing facility. This is a hands-on role in a clean-room environment, requiring adherence to strict safety and PPE protocols.
The ideal candidate is experienced in copper cabling installation and troubleshooting, able to interpret technical floor plans, and comfortable working within structured pathways while considering physical constraints. You must be located within one hour of Taylor, TX.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, terminate, test, and troubleshoot Category 5e/6/6a copper cabling in an enterprise environment
- Assist with installation, adjustments, and modifications to network connections
- Properly label, dress, and organize cabling per site and industry standards
- Work with ticketing systems and document work accurately
- Support development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Provide occasional support to the network team (rack/de-rack equipment, hardware replacement support, hotfix troubleshooting, etc.)
- Follow all on-site safety, security protocols, and company policies
- Collaborate effectively in a team environment
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma
- At least 5 years of related working experience
- Fluent in spoken and written English
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Ability to pass a criminal background check
- Familiarity with cable/construction industry standards and copper testing procedures
- Proficient with basic hand tools
- Moderate computer literacy (Microsoft Office, filing systems, email etiquette)
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, work on ladders up to 40 feet, and operate in confined spaces
- Strong work history and willingness to learn
- Must live within 1 hour of Taylor, TX
Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)
- 1 year experience in construction environments
- Minimum 1 year of experience in structured cabling
- Proficient with cable testing equipment
- Strong understanding of Layer 1 networking infrastructure
