Job Description
iDesign Granite LLC is looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Granite & Quartz Fabricator / Finisher to join our team.
This position is responsible for the hand fabrication, modification, repair, and final finishing of granite and quartz countertops. The ideal candidate has experience working with stone and is comfortable using hand grinders, polishers, and other fabrication tools to produce a high-quality finished product.
Attention to detail and quality workmanship are very important for this position.
Responsibilities
- Hand fabricate and polish granite and quartz countertop edges.
- Use handheld grinders, polishers, and other stone fabrication tools to modify and finish countertops.
- Polish and finish straight, curved, and custom countertop edges.
- Repair natural stone fissures, small cracks, chips, and other imperfections using appropriate stone repair techniques and materials.
- Perform modifications and adjustments to granite and quartz countertops as needed.
- Finish and polish sink cutouts, corners, edges, seams, and other detailed areas.
- Perform final touch-ups on countertops after CNC fabrication.
- Inspect finished pieces for scratches, chips, polishing defects, or other quality issues.
- Make necessary repairs and corrections before countertops are released for installation.
- Read and understand countertop drawings, measurements, and fabrication details.
- Safely move and handle granite, quartz, and other countertop materials.
- Maintain hand tools and fabrication equipment in good working condition.
- Keep the work area clean and organized.
- Follow all company safety procedures when working with stone, power tools, and heavy materials.
- Work closely with CNC operators, fabricators, installers, and management to ensure each project meets iDesign Granite's quality standards.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in granite, quartz, natural stone, or countertop fabrication is strongly preferred.
- Experience using hand grinders and wet/dry polishing tools.
- Knowledge of stone edge polishing and finishing techniques.
- Experience repairing granite fissures, chips, cracks, and other stone imperfections is preferred.
- Ability to perform detailed hand-finishing work with a strong focus on quality.
- Ability to read measurements and basic fabrication drawings.
- Ability to safely lift and handle heavy countertop materials with assistance and proper equipment.
- Must be dependable, punctual, and able to work well as part of a team.
- Must follow workplace and equipment safety procedures.
