Role Description This Teacher role is a position based in Omaha, NE, with primary responsibilities on campus and in the community. The Teacher will design and implement daily lessons aligned with school standards, using affirming, high yield practices. Responsibilities include delivering engaging instruction, assessing student learning, providing feedback, maintaining accurate records, and connecting learning to student and community experiences. The Teacher will collaborate with colleagues and families, participate in professional development, and contribute to a positive, co-constructed classroom design. Additional duties may include supporting specials, school events, community-rooted activities, and small-group instruction or intervention as needed.
Qualifications
- Strong teaching and education skills, with experience facilitating learning for 4th–8th grade students.
- Lesson planning and training abilities to design rigorous, culturally affirming instruction and support student skill development.
- Clear and professional communication skills for working with students, families, and colleagues.
- Commitment to community-rooted education and building trusting relationships with students.
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field; valid teaching certification, license in elementary or middle grades .
- Experience in urban or community-centered schools and familiarity with culturally affirming pedagogy is highly beneficial.
- Ability to use classroom technology, digital tools, and data to inform instruction and support student growth.
