Overview: The Litho Press Operator must demonstrate their ability to properly operate a 6 and 8-color sheet fed press, while adhering to the Safety, Quality, Security and Audit compliance regulations.
Shift: 2:30pm - 11:00pm
Responsibilities:
- Direct press helper/2nd press person and Kitter in their daily tasks.
- Set up press by mounting plates, making ready while adjusting print quality, registration and color.
- Match color goal with the use of a densitometer, 4 and 7 color process, PMS book standards, customer color standards, and/or in house standards.
- Make final pre-run inspection and obtain authorization from graphics supervisor.
- Inspect the order for defects during production and correct any issues in a timely manner.
- Communicate any issues during production to the supervisor.
- Monitor fountain solution levels (i.e. conductivity, alcohol %)
- Ability to mix own ink if necessary.
- Complete final count and inspection, ensuring the record keeping is accurate and timely manner.
- Make proper PIF changes if necessary and give a copy to the print planners for the next reorder.
- Clean press thoroughly and safely using proper protective equipment at all times.
- Perform maintenance on the UV system
- Performs ALL weekly and monthly maintenance on the equipment.
- Performs preventative maintenance (cleaning, lubrication, etc.)
- Replace parts when applicable.
- Replace and/or adjust rollers.
- Proper handling and disposal of chemicals.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma/equivalent.
- Be mechanically inclined and have basic maintenance skills.
- Minimum 3 years as a Level II operator. Must have an understanding of the press room ISO procedures and practices.
- Following the 7QB and FPR standards, set forth by management.
