What are the responsibilities and job description for the Skilled Laborer position at Idell Construction Co.?
We’re a family-owned custom home builder and commercial contractor in Greeneville, TN, looking to add a reliable Skilled Laborer / Craftsman to our team.
As a third-generation, locally owned company since 1987, we take pride in building quality projects while treating our employees like family. We work Monday–Thursday 7:00 AM – 4:30 PM and Friday 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM. We do not lay off team members when the weather turns or things slow down - we value stability and make supporting our crew a priority year-round.
In this role you’ll handle a variety of skilled construction tasks that change daily based on project needs. You can expect to spend time on:
- Spreading gravel and performing site work
- Trim carpentry and finish work
- Moving materials between job sites
- Using hand and power tools
- Assisting with heavy machinery operation
- Other general construction tasks
All work must be completed safely and in compliance with local building codes. We provide on-the-job training and expect you to continue improving your skills.
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license and reliable personal vehicle for daily travel to job sites
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous construction or skilled labor experience (or relevant apprenticeship) preferred
- Ability to use a wide variety of tools with minimal supervision
- Strong work ethic, teamwork skills, and willingness to learn
- Commitment to safety and quality workmanship
