What are the responsibilities and job description for the STEM Summer Camp Assistant position at Ideaventions Academy or Math and Science?
Ideaventions is looking for summer science camp assistants for our STEM enrichment camps in Reston, Virginia. Assist in teaching small groups of children (1st-6th grades) in hands-on science labs, help pack and organize materials for labs, and assist teachers in supervising students in activities such as outdoor walks and before or aftercare activities. We are looking for aspiring educators that are enthusiastic, creative and possess a passion for hands-on, science, engineering and technology camps. The position is to join our team, assisting in inventive, small-group STEM camps for elementary children. Candidates with experience in STEM education and past experience working with children in formal or informal learning environments preferred.

Camp Dates:
- 6/22-8/14 (8 weeks)
- * Seeking a Camp Assistant for ~4-5 weeks of camps from 7/13 to 8/14. Candidate must be available during those weeks.
Camp hours: Regular camp day is from 8:30 am - 3:30 pm

Qualifications
- College students working towards a degree, or high school Juniors and Seniors, with strong background in science, engineering, technology or education.
- Experience working with children with excellent communication, organization, and problem solving skills
- Engaging, compassionate and creative educators capable of explaining science, engineering and technology concepts.
- Requires physical ability to set up classrooms and participate in outdoor play time.
- Experience with gifted education preferred
- As a condition of employment with ideaventions, any job applicant will be required to successfully complete a background investigation and drug screening.

Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
