This role is hands-on, fast-moving, and deeply collaborative. The Impact You Will Make
Project Team Collaboration
- Work in close collaboration with the Design Director, Senior Designers, and Lead Designers across all interior design projects.
- Support multiple projects simultaneously, engaging in tasks across all phases from concept through construction administration while independently managing assigned responsibilities and deadlines.
- Attend client meetings as requested and support the preparation of client-ready materials.
- Ensure all work is complete, accurate, and coordinated prior to internal review.
- Maintain accurate time tracking and task documentation.
Concept, Vision & Design Development
- Review and follow project design criteria, deliverables, and schedules.
- Implement brand standards and project requirements consistently across design deliverables.
- Support schematic design and space planning, ensuring compliance with ADA and applicable codes.
- Develop conceptual design elements including mood boards, narratives, and early visual studies.
- Assist in developing material, finish, furniture, and lighting palettes aligned with design intent and project goals.
- Source materials and furnishings; order and organize physical samples, images, cut sheets, pricing, and lead times within project folders.
- Prepare physical and digital material boards.
- Support the coordination of renderings and visual presentations, including providing design inputs to renderers and managing revisions.
- Produce and revise colored floor plans, renderings, and presentation graphics using Photoshop and related tools.
- Assist with art, accessories, and décor selections.
- Compile final design development and presentation packages, including packaging, shipping, and tracking as required.
Technical Design Documentation
- Prepare and assist with interior design drawing sets, including finish plans, furniture plans, reflected ceiling plans, elevations, and millwork details.
- Create FF&E schedules, specification books, and pricing documents under the guidance of senior team members.
- Incorporate redlines and updates throughout submission phases.
- Assist with initial lighting selections and coordination of lighting layouts.
- Coordinate design updates with architecture and foodservice teams.
- Ensure specification documentation is complete and distributed appropriately.
FF&E, Materials, and Procurement
- Assist with pricing, request formal quotes, and compile procurement documentation.
- Support the creation of accessories, art, and artifact packages.
- Assist with on-site installations and coordination during project execution.
Construction Administration Support
- Assist with shop drawing and finish submittal reviews.
- Support value engineering and alternate selections as needed.
- Participate in construction administration activities under the direction of senior staff.
Branding & Graphic Integration
- Coordinate and manage brand assets to ensure alignment with current standards.
- Assist with signage and graphic packages, including barricade graphics and branded environmental elements.
- Support the development of logos, murals, graphic art, and custom wallcovering designs as required.
Project Coordination & Operations
- Maintain accurate time tracking, project organization, and documentation across all phases.
- Prepare project reports, maintain project folders, and ensure all deliverables are complete, reviewed, and client-ready.
Marketing & Studio Engagement
- Collaborate with the marketing team to support social media content, portfolio updates, and marketing initiatives.
- Assist with marketing campaigns and follow established brand and marketing protocols.
- Attend industry events, vendor presentations, and studio events as a representative of IDG, capturing photos and content when appropriate.
What You Bring to the Table
- Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of professional interior design experience, ideally with complex, multi-phase projects.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating concept-to-completion design, technical excellence, and a distinct point of view
- Working knowledge of design development, documentation, and construction administration processes.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Photoshop; familiarity with InDesign, Illustrator, and Bluebeam is a plus.
- Strong understanding of materials, finishes, FF&E, lighting, and detailing.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks across projects.
- Collaborative mindset with a willingness to learn, contribute, and receive feedback.
- Strong communication skills and comfort working within a team-based studio environment.
