Summary:
Creates and maintains information products for external audiences to support IDeaS revenue optimization software solutions, within the IDeaS Enablement & Engagement team.
Major Responsibilities:
- Organizes, designs, and develops collections of information products (online help systems, in-product guidance, job aids, visual aids, videos, etc.) to support user and client needs.
- Translates complex technical topics into concise, clear language.
- Follows product release cycles and networks with internal Product teams to document product changes and determine the need for revised or new information products.
- Networks with internal Account Management, Enterprise, and Client Operations teams to deliver content that addresses users’ need to understand product changes.
- Conducts research and asks questions of Subject Matter Experts to gather information and recognizes the need for additional information.
- Contributes to quality assurance of information products and recommends revisions to scope, format, and content.
- Understands technical communication principles, conventions, processes, delivery methods, and tools.
- Creates and tracks status of project related tasks to manage workload and communicate progress to stakeholders and managers.
- Tracks project contribution time to support accuracy of utilization metrics.
- Acquires knowledge of hospitality industry and IDeaS lexicon appropriate to assignments.
- Follows writing standards and styles, including grammar, content structure, and style guides.
Requirements:
- A bachelor’s degree or higher in professional communications, learning design, or hospitality. Some technical communications experience or hospitality experience preferred.
- Experience with aspects of technical communications, publishing, layout, design, and graphics.
- Working knowledge of technical communications tools and technology (such as Help Authoring Tools, CMS, HTML, CSS, versioning platforms, and in-product guidance technologies).
- Strong technical ability and flexibility to adopt and use relevant tools and processes.
- Strong writing, designing, editing skills, and knowledge of grammar.
- Ability to contribute to and incorporate style guidelines.
- Excellent organizational, time management, research, planning, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work as an independent team member on multiple concurrent projects, prioritize under pressure, determine methods, manage schedule, and resolve issues to meet defined deadlines.
Preferences:
- Experience working in an Agile environment
- Experience using MadCap Flare or other XML publishing systems or online markup formats such as HTML
- Experience developing in-product user guidance using tools like WalkMe or Pendo
- Experience writing HTML or JavaScript code
- Knowledge of hospitality and travel business domains
