What are the responsibilities and job description for the Warehouse Coordinator position at Ideal Warehouse Innovations?

PURPOSE:
The primary purpose of this position is to work cross-functionally with planning, customer service, and warehousing teams to coordinate and execute daily shipping operations using Business Central. The Warehouse Coordinator ensures all customer orders are fulfilled accurately, efficiently, and on time, while supporting the overall warehousing and logistics functions of Ideal Warehouse Innovations and related companies.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES (the incumbent may be asked to perform any combination of the following functions):
- Manage outbound orders in Business Central, ensuring they are packed and shipped in priority sequence according to customer requirements.
- Verify that all labeling and documentation requirements are met prior to shipment.
- Schedule outbound trucks and carriers in alignment with customer promise dates.
- Ensure all Bills of Lading (BOLs), shipping weights, and dimensions are scanned and emailed daily to the administrative team.
- Maintain and update shipping records and reports in Business Central.
- Support quality control processes for all outbound shipments, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Assist in the training of warehouse staff on shipping, labeling, and ERP/WMS-related procedures.
- Participate in daily work scheduling and prioritization to maintain on-time delivery performance.
- Collaborate with operations and procurement teams to ensure inventory accuracy and proper material flow.
- Perform ad hoc assignments as directed by management.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
- Strong proficiency in ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central preferred).
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook and other Microsoft Office applications.
- 2–3 years of experience in warehousing, logistics coordination, or related administrative roles.
- Experience with shipping documentation and freight coordination is an asset.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Standing and walking throughout the workday.
- May occasionally provide hands-on support in warehouse operations involving light to moderate physical effort.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Moderate noise, typical of a warehouse environment.
- Primarily office-based within a plant or warehouse setting.
