Position and Openings

Ideal Tents and Events Rental is seeking four (4) temporary, full-time, seasonal Tent, Party, and event setup laborers.

Period of Employment

The anticipated period of employment is 04/01/2026 through 12/15/2026.

Worksite Location / Area of Intended Employment

Work will be performed in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and at multiple worksites throughout South Dakota in the counties of Lincoln, Minnehaha, Buffalo, Beadle, Jerauld, Aurora, Charles Mix, Douglas, Bon Homme, Davison, Sanborn, Miner, Kingsbury, Hamlin, Codington, Yankton, Deuel, Grant, Brookings, Lake, Hanson, Hutchinson, Moody, McCook, Clay, Union, and Turner.

Residence and Travel

Workers will reside in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and travel to worksites in the counties listed above. Travel is required to multiple worksites working on multiple events.

Job Duties

Event Crew Members assist with event setup and teardown work, including unloading, assembling, installing, and dismantling equipment such as tents, staging, and flooring. Workers will prepare and clean sites; remove debris; move furniture and barricades; set up signage; assist with entry control; and maintain a clean and safe work environment. Workers may document damages or needed repairs and report issues to supervisors. Courtesy, teamwork, and attention to detail are required.

Minimum Requirements

There is no minimum education requirement. Applicants must have at least three (3) months of experience in event setup or related work. Candidates must be able to lift, carry, push, or pull up to fifty (50) pounds and perform physically demanding work outdoors in various weather conditions.

Work Schedule

Work is expected to be forty (40) hours per week, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Weekend work may be required depending on event schedules or weather conditions.

Wage Offer and Overtime

The wage offer is $19.78 per hour. The overtime rate is $29.67 per hour for all hours worked over forty (40) in a workweek. Overtime may be available but is not guaranteed. Returning workers may be paid higher based on experience or merit.

Pay Method, Frequency, and Deductions

The employer will use a single workweek as the standard for computing wages due and will pay workers bi-weekly by check. The employer will make all deductions required by law. No other deductions are taken.

Transportation and Subsistence

If the worker completes fifty percent (50%) of the work contract period, the employer will reimburse inbound transportation and subsistence costs from the place of recruitment to the place of employment. Upon completion of the contract period or lawful early termination, the employer will pay or provide outbound transportation and subsistence to the worker’s place of recruitment or next certified employment, whichever applies. Reimbursement will be based on the most economical common-carrier rate available. Daily meals during travel will be reimbursed at $16.28 per day without receipts and up to $69.00 per day with receipts.

Workers will be provided transportation to and from the worksite at no additional cost. Daily transportation will depart from and return to the employer’s main office in Tea, South Dakota.

Fees

The employer will reimburse workers in the first workweek for all visa, visa-processing, border-crossing, and other government-mandated fees paid by the worker (excluding passport fees).

Tools, Supplies, and Equipment

The employer will provide all tools, supplies, and equipment necessary to perform the job at no cost to the worker.

Housing

The employer will assist workers in locating suitable local housing through rental agencies or community resources; the employer does not provide housing directly.
