The Regulatory & Compliance Specialist will play a key role in supporting IDEAL’s legacy by working with IDEAL’s three divisions -- Enatel, Anderson Power, and IDEAL Electrical -- leading regulatory compliance and sustainability-related regulatory efforts across the globe.
Reporting to the Corporate Legal Department, this role is responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable U.S. and international product, environmental, and sustainability regulations, supporting corporate responsibility initiatives, and partnering closely with Supply Chain, Quality, Sustainability, and divisional leadership. The Specialist will also work directly with the divisions suppliers and customers to support product compliance documentation, regulatory disclosures, and sustainability-related information requests.
This is a mid‑senior / lead individual contributor role requiring strong regulatory expertise, cross‑functional collaboration, and the ability to translate complex global requirements into practical business guidance.

Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate regulatory compliance efforts across assigned divisions, ensuring compliance with applicable U.S. and international regulations.
- Monitor, interpret, and communicate new and evolving laws, regulations, and guidance documents related to compliance, chemicals, environmental and sustainability.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on product-related regulatory requirements, including but not limited to:
- California Proposition 65; Conflict Minerals, CE, REACH; RoHS; WEEE; TSCA and other global chemical and material regulations
- Partner with Supply Chain and Quality teams to gather, review, validate, and maintain supplier compliance documentation, including material declarations, certificates, and test reports.
- Support divisions in responding to customer requests and inquiries related to environmental compliance, environmental attributes, and sustainability requirements.
- Collaborate with the Corporate Responsibility team to support compliance with environmental and sustainability-related laws and customer expectations, including:
- Carbon footprint and lifecycle data requests
- Greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions data support
- Supply chain sustainability disclosures
- Participate as an active contributor to cross‑functional teams and committees, including those focused on Corporate Responsibility and Supply Chain, helping align product compliance efforts with broader ESG initiatives.
- Assist in developing compliance procedures, internal processes, tools, and guidance to improve regulatory compliance efficiency, data management, and risk mitigation.
- Support internal training and awareness related to product compliance and sustainability requirements as needed.
- Maintain accurate documentation, including compliance databases and records to demonstrate compliance across regions, and divisions.
- Research to identify applicable regulations, directives and guidelines in the United States and globally and ensure compliance with applicable environmental regulations and industry standards.
- Bachelor’s degree with relevant experience in regulatory & compliance.
- 5–7 years of experience in regulatory compliance, environmental compliance, or related regulatory roles.
- Demonstrated experience with U.S. regulatory requirements, including Proposition 65 and TSCA.
- Strong working knowledge of compliance requirements in the United States as well as experience in other parts of the world particularly in:
- European Union and United Kingdom (required)
- Canada and Asia (preferred)
- New Zealand (desirable)
- Experience supporting compliance for manufactured products, including supplier engagement and material compliance data collection including the ability to validate supplier-provided data and drive pragmatic, risk-based supplier engagement.
- Experience working cross functionally with Legal, Supply Chain, Quality, Corporate Responsibility, and business leadership. Demonstrated ability to translate regulatory requirements into executable processes, guidance, and decision frameworks for cross-functional teams.
- Highly desired: prior experience working as part of, or in close partnership with, a Corporate Responsibility or Sustainability team.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear, customer-facing compliance responses; coordinating inputs from internal stakeholders and, where appropriate, suppliers
- Ability to manage multiple priorities across divisions and geographies in a remote work environment.
- Excellent project management skills. Experience developing practical compliance tools and enablement materials (e.g., templates, SOPs, training content) to improve efficiency, data quality, and consistency across divisions.

- Familiarity working within ERP systems (D365 desired but not essential).
- Working knowledge in D365, NAVEX a plus
- Domestic travel approximately every 6–8 weeks, typically for a few days at a time, including visits to divisional locations and the corporate office in Sycamore, IL.
