We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Data Engineer Intern to join our data and analytics team. As a Data Engineer Intern, you will focus on building, maintaining, and optimizing data pipelines with a specific emphasis on working with Microsoft SQL databases. You will also gain exposure to modern cloud-based data platforms such as Microsoft Fabric and Snowflake, ensuring that data is transformed and loaded accurately for analytics and reporting

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain efficient data pipelines using Microsoft Azure Data Factory and/or FiveTran.
• Perform data transformations to ensure data is optimized for reporting and analytics.
• Assist in integrating data from various internal and external data sources into SQL-based systems.
• Ensure data quality, consistency, and integrity through the use of best practices in data management.
• Collaborate with data analysts, business users, and other team members to understand data requirements and deliver solutions.
• Gain experience working with Microsoft Fabric and Snowflake, helping with data migration and cloud-based data solutions.
• Document data pipeline processes, transformations, and database structures for future reference.
• Maintain data lineage through developed data transformational pipelines.
• Maintain data security standards defined by the organization.
• Support organization change management policies
• Maintain data technical documentation and standards
  
  

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree or Master’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
• 1-2 years of experience in data engineering or a related field (internships, advanced degree, or relevant projects considered).
• Proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server for querying, data manipulation, and optimization.
• Experience with ETL processes and tools for data transformation (Azure Data Factory, FiveTran).
• Familiarity with database management and performance tuning in Microsoft SQL environments.
• Basic understanding of Microsoft Fabric or Snowflake or similar cloud-based data platforms.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• A satisfactory equivalent combination of experience and training which ensures the ability to perform the work may be considered.
  
  

The expected pay rate for this position is between $15.00 and $20.00 per hour and is full time.
