About Ideal Home Care
Ideal Home Care is a small, independent DME provider specializing in Complex Mobility and Complex Rehab Technology (CRT). We provide K0005 ultralightweight manual wheelchairs, custom manual wheelchairs, Group 3 power wheelchairs, and related mobility equipment.
We are looking for an experienced Complex Mobility/CRT Biller who understands the unique documentation, authorization, coding, and billing requirements associated with complex wheelchair claims.

This is not an entry-level or general medical billing position. Your resume must reflect hands-on experience billing complex mobility equipment. Applicants whose resumes do not demonstrate this experience will not be considered for this position.
Position Summary
The Complex Mobility Biller will be responsible for reviewing complex mobility orders for billing readiness, ensuring required documentation and authorizations are complete, submitting accurate claims, working denials and underpayments, and following claims through payment.
We need someone who understands that successful CRT billing begins before the claim is submitted. The right candidate will be comfortable identifying missing documentation, working with our intake and clinical teams to resolve deficiencies, and ensuring the file supports billing requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Review K0005, custom manual wheelchair, Group 3 power wheelchair, and accessory orders for billing readiness
- Verify eligibility and insurance coverage prior to billing
- Review medical documentation for completeness and billing requirements
- Verify required physician orders, face-to-face documentation, ATP/PT evaluations, delivery documentation, and other supporting records
- Review and manage Medicare prior authorization requirements for applicable complex mobility equipment
- Ensure HCPCS codes, modifiers, quantities, pricing, and payer information are accurate
- Submit clean claims to Medicare and commercial/managed-care payers
- Review EOBs and ERAs
- Work denials, rejections, underpayments, and outstanding claims
- Prepare and submit appeals and reconsiderations when appropriate
- Follow up with insurance companies on unpaid or incorrectly processed claims
- Identify missing documentation and communicate clearly with Intake, ATPs, therapists, physicians, and other team members
- Maintain detailed and accurate account notes
- Monitor aging claims and proactively work outstanding balances
- Assist with audits and documentation requests
- Help ensure claims are compliant and properly supported before submission
Required/Preferred Experience
- Prior DME billing experience required
- Complex Rehab Technology (CRT) or complex wheelchair billing experience strongly preferred
- Experience billing Medicare DME claims
- Knowledge of HCPCS codes and modifiers
- Understanding of Medicare medical necessity and documentation requirements
- Experience with prior authorizations, denials, appeals, and AR follow-up
- Experience with K0005 and Group 3 power wheelchair claims highly preferred
- Familiarity with Brightree is a plus
- Strong understanding of Medicare, Medi-Cal, HMO, and commercial insurance billing is a plus

Compensation
$28.00–$30.00 per hour, depending on Complex Mobility/CRT billing experience.
Full-Time | Monday–Friday | In-Person – Whittier, CA
