Ideal Home Care is a fast-growing Durable Medical Equipment (DME) provider specializing in complex rehab and mobility solutions. We partner with healthcare providers, SNFs, case managers, and health plans to deliver high-quality equipment with a strong focus on patient outcomes and service excellence.
We are expanding our Complex Mobility division and are seeking a motivated Assistive Technology Professional (ATP) to join our team.
**Important Notice**
This is a full-time position. We are not seeking per-diem or independent contractors for this role.
Position Summary
The ATP will evaluate patients, recommend appropriate mobility equipment (K0005 ultralightweight manual wheelchairs, Group 3 power wheelchairs, and other rehab equipment), and work closely with therapists, physicians, and our internal intake and billing teams to ensure timely and compliant delivery.
This role is ideal for someone who is clinically driven, detail-oriented, and passionate about improving patient mobility and independence.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct patient evaluations in homes, SNFs, hospitals, and clinics
- Recommend appropriate complex mobility equipment (K5, Group 3 power chairs, etc.)
- Collaborate with PT/OTs and physicians to obtain required documentation
- Ensure compliance with Medicare, PPO, and HMO guidelines
- Work closely with intake team to coordinate:
- Eligibility verification
- Documentation collection
- Order processing
- Provide product education and training to patients and caregivers
- Support timely equipment ordering and delivery coordination
- Maintain accurate and detailed evaluation documentation
- Participate in ongoing follow-ups and adjustments as needed
Qualifications
- ATP Certification (RESNA) – Required
- Experience in DME, complex rehab, or mobility equipment preferred
- Strong knowledge of: Medicare documentation requirements, K0005 and Group 3 mobility products.
- Ability to work with interdisciplinary teams (PT/OT, case managers, SNFs)
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
Preferred Experience
- Background in DME, physical therapy, occupational therapy, or rehab coordination
- Experience working with Medicare, Blue Cross PPO, and HMO plans
- Familiarity with documentation for prior authorizations and audits
