BRIEF DESCRIPTION:
The Project Development Manager is responsible for supporting and managing environmental remediation projects from initial planning through successful completion. This role serves as the central point of coordination between clients, contractors, field staff, and regulatory agencies, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and in compliance with environmental and safety standards. This position requires strong organizational skills, communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. The Project Development Manager will play a critical role in building and maintaining client relationships while supporting the company’s mission of delivering safe, effective, and professional services for our clients.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct an in-depth analysis of scope of work to understand and clearly communicate with clients and contractors.
- Work closely with architects, engineers, and clients to develop accurate scopes of work and coordination of project schedules.
- Interact closely with the client to provide updates, resolve issues, and ensure overall satisfaction.
- Ensure project compliance with local, state, and federal environmental regulations.
- Ensure projects meet the highest standards of workmanship based on current industry standards.
- Prepare cost estimates for clients based on inspection results and overall scope of work.
- Professionally represent IDEAL in person during meetings and/or presentations.
- Track change orders and all extras on projects via signed change order forms and provide budget updates as needed.
- Assist with proposal writing, budgeting, and project scoping for new business opportunities.
- Maintain appropriate certifications and stay current with changes in industry regulations and best practices.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE & TRAITS:
High school diploma or GED required.
3 Years of Construction Project Management experience.
Familiarization with building construction and building systems.
Bachelor’s degree in construction management, safety, engineering, and/or a related field.
A self-motivated personality, strong communicator, and coachable individual who is dedicated to personal and professional development.
Ability to think critically and assess situations (active problem solving).
OSHA training certifications.
AutoCAD experience.
IDPH Licenses (Asbestos & Lead) - i.e. (Asbestos Inspector License, Asbestos Project Manager License, Air Sampling Professional License, Lead Inspector & Risk Assessor License).
WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS FOR THE POSITION:
The employee must regularly lift and/or move between 25-50 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and sit, as well as to reach, kneel, crouch, or occasionally crawl. Flexible scheduling: work hours vary. On occasion, second shift work is needed and will be communicated as far in advance as possible.
PROJECT DEVELOPMENT MANAGER TRAINING:
IDEAL will provide paid onboard training to learn and understand IDEAL’s systems, processes, procedures and expectations.
IDEAL will provide paid field training with senior personnel to accrue training hours.
Once all necessary training hours are accrued, IDEAL will pay for the following licenses:
IDPH Asbestos Inspector License
IDPH Asbestos Project Manager License
IDPH Air Sampling Professional License
IDPH Lead Inspector, Risk Assessor License
