This is a hands-on field role operating dozers, graders, skid steers, loaders, and excavators to deliver precise grading and subgrade preparation. Key Responsibilities
- Operate heavy equipment such as graders, dozers, skid steers, loaders, and excavators for site prep and fine grading
- Perform fine grading to precise tolerances and finish specs
- Understand and execute subgrade preparation, base installation, and compaction
- Read and interpret grade stakes, blueprints, and laser levels
- Maintain equipment and perform daily inspections for safe operation
- Adhere to all jobsite safety standards and procedures
- Assist with labor tasks and general site work as needed
- Communicate effectively with field supervisors and crew members
Qualifications
- 2 years of experience in equipment operation with emphasis on fine grading
- Proficient in operating a range of equipment (grader, dozer, excavator, etc.)
- Strong understanding of grade control, compaction, and base installation
- Ability to read grade stakes, blueprints, and use laser levels
- Safety-first mindset with a commitment to jobsite protocols
- Willingness to support team with physical labor when necessary
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail
- No specific licenses or certifications required
