Job Summary

The UAV Assembler is responsible for hands-on mechanical and electrical assembly of unmanned aircraft systems within the Government Systems production line. This role supports the Team Lead - UAV Assembly by executing detailed build tasks, following engineering documentation, and ensuring high-quality workmanship. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, works well with their hands, and can follow precise instructions to support day-to-day prototype and production assembly operations.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform hands-on electrical and mechanical assembly of UAV components, subassemblies, and full aircraft builds.
• Install wiring harnesses, avionics, sensors, servos, payloads, and mechanical hardware.
• Execute crimping, soldering, routing, bonding, composite trimming, and general assembly tasks.
• Read and follow engineering drawings, schematics, work instructions, and 3D models.
• Conduct in-process quality checks and report deviations to the Team Lead immediately.
• Complete build travelers, production logs, and documentation accurately and on time.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment with proper tool control.
• Support root-cause analysis, rework, and troubleshooting activities as directed.
• Assist with functional checks and basic system verification during aircraft build-up.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance build efficiency and reduce rework.
• Support occasional fielding, repair, or test events as assigned.
• Other duties as assigned.
  
  

Qualification Requirements

Hands-on experience in mechanical or electrical assembly (UAV, aerospace, automotive, or manufacturing preferred).

Ability to read and follow engineering drawings, schematics, and detailed work instructions.

Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship.

• Ability to work for extended periods at computer workstation/keyboard.
• Ability to type accurately and efficiently.
