Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic After School Sports Coach to lead and inspire children in various athletic activities. This role involves planning, organizing, and supervising sports programs that promote physical activity, teamwork, and skill development. Duties
- Lead and supervise children during after school sports activities such as basketball, cheerleading, climbing, martial arts (Judo, Karate), swimming, and other physical education programs
- Develop engaging lesson plans that promote skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship
- Ensure the safety of all participants by enforcing rules and behavior management strategies
- Provide instruction in specific sports or activities based on experience such as swimming, martial arts, or gymnastics
- Manage behavior and maintain a positive environment conducive to learning and fun
- Collaborate with school staff and parents to coordinate schedules and communicate progress
- Assist with setting up equipment and maintaining the cleanliness of activity areas
- Encourage participation from children of all skill levels and foster an inclusive atmosphere
Qualifications
- Prior experience in sports coaching, teaching physical education, or childcare is highly desirable
- Lifeguard experience is a plus for swimming-related activities
- Knowledge of various sports including basketball, cheerleading, climbing, Judo, Karate, or similar disciplines
- Experience working with students or children in educational or recreational settings
- Strong behavior management skills to handle diverse group dynamics effectively
- Ability to motivate children and create an engaging environment
- Certification or background in martial arts (such as Judo or Karate) is advantageous
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with school staff and parents
- Passion for promoting health, fitness, teamwork, and personal development among youth
Pay: $14.00 per hour
