Role Description The 5th Grade Math Teacher at IDEA Public Schools in Brownsville, TX is a full-time, on-site role responsible for planning and delivering high-quality math instruction aligned with campus and network goals. Day-to-day responsibilities include designing standards-based lessons, facilitating engaging classroom activities, assessing student learning, and providing targeted interventions to support academic growth. The teacher collaborates with grade-level and content teams to align curriculum, analyze data, and implement effective instructional strategies. Additional responsibilities include maintaining a positive, structured classroom environment, communicating regularly with families about student progress, and participating in professional development and school-wide initiatives. Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Teaching and Elementary Education skills to effectively instruct and support 5th grade students.
- Candidates should possess Curriculum Development and Education skills to design, adapt, and implement rigorous, standards-based math lessons.
- Candidates should possess excellent Communication skills to collaborate with colleagues, engage families, and clearly explain mathematical concepts to students.
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Mathematics, or a related field; state teaching certification or eligibility preferred.
- Experience teaching upper elementary grades, particularly math, in a diverse, student-centered environment is beneficial.
