Idea Lab Kids is a hands-on educational enrichment center where children explore Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math through creative, project-based learning experiences.
We are hiring enthusiastic and dependable After School STEAM Teachers who enjoy working with elementary-aged children and want to make a meaningful impact. Our teachers lead engaging STEAM lessons, encourage creativity and problem-solving, and help create a safe and welcoming environment for every student.
Curriculum, lesson guidance, training, and supplies are provided, allowing teachers to focus on connecting with students and bringing each activity to life.
Position Overview
After School STEAM Teachers may be assigned to:
- Teach daily STEAM lessons at our Wesley Chapel learning center
- Lead enrichment classes at nearby partner schools
- Transport students from local schools to our learning center in a company vehicle
- Supervise and support students throughout the after-school program
Assignments may vary by day based on program needs. Applicants must be comfortable working both at our learning center and at local partner-school campuses.
What You’ll Do
- Lead hands-on STEAM lessons for children ages 5–12
- Encourage curiosity, creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving
- Review the provided curriculum and prepare lesson materials before each class
- Maintain a safe, positive, organized, and well-managed classroom
- Supervise students during lessons, transitions, snack, open lab, and recreation
- Travel to nearby partner schools to lead on-campus enrichment classes when assigned
- Safely transport students using a company van, SUV, or minivan when assigned
- Maintain accurate attendance and follow all student safety procedures
- Clean, organize, and reset classrooms and materials after each session
- Communicate professionally with students, parents, school staff, and team members
- Participate in required staff meetings and training sessions
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of an associate degree from an accredited college or university
- Degree in Education, Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Math, Child Development, or a related field
- Experience teaching, tutoring, coaching, mentoring, or working with children ages 5–12
- Strong classroom-management and communication skills
- Ability to confidently facilitate elementary-level science, math, literacy, engineering, art, and technology activities
- Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team
- Comfortable learning and teaching new hands-on activities
- CPR and First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain certification
Position Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- Must have an acceptable driving record that meets company insurance requirements
- Must be willing and comfortable driving a passenger van or similar company vehicle
- Must have reliable transportation to and from work and assigned partner-school locations
- Must pass a criminal background check and pre-employment drug screening
- Must be consistently available Monday through Friday during the required afternoon hours
- Must be dependable, punctual, and able to manage a classroom independently
- Must be able to stand and move throughout the classroom for extended periods
- Must be able to lift, carry, and organize classroom supplies and equipment

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
