Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and safety-conscious Class A or B Equipment Operator to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will operate a variety of heavy construction machinery, including excavators, loaders, graders, dozers, and dump trucks, to support excavation, paving, utility work, and site grading projects. Your expertise will help ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and in compliance with all safety regulations.
Duties
- Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, loaders, graders, dozers, backhoes, water trucks, and dump trucks with precision and safety.
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections on construction machinery to ensure optimal performance and safety.
- Conduct utility locating to identify underground utilities before excavation or drilling activities.
- Execute excavation tasks for site preparation, trenching, and utility installation in accordance with project specifications.
- Assist with construction grading and paving operations to achieve accurate levels and smooth surfaces.
- Follow federal construction safety regulations and equipment safety procedures diligently to maintain a safe work environment.
- Support horizontal drilling operations and tanker handling as needed for specialized utility projects.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A or B commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience operating heavy construction machinery such as excavators (including Caterpillar models), loaders, dozers, graders, backhoes, water trucks, and dump trucks.
- Strong mechanical knowledge for equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of construction utility work including underground utility locating and excavation safety procedures.
- Familiarity with federal construction safety regulations and site safety protocols.
- Construction site experience with a focus on grading, paving, and utility installation projects.
- Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting heavy equipment parts or materials as required.
- Excellent communication skills to coordinate with team members and supervisors effectively.
