We are open to candidates that are interested in pursuing a career in Commercial Underwriting, and possess a degree in business administration, management, or marketing and/or have commercial property and casualty insurance experience.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate insurance applications and support documentation to determine coverages.
- Utilize software to assess risk levels and make informed underwriting decisions.
- Negotiate terms with clients and stakeholders to ensure favorable outcomes for all parties involved.
- Prepare comprehensive reports that summarize findings and recommendations.
- Maintain accurate records of underwriting decisions and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with insurance agencies and servicing teams to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices in underwriting.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in underwriting, preferably within the insurance industry.
- Possess 4-year college degree in BS/BA and/or has property and casualty commercial insurance experience
- Strong skills in report writing and analysis, with an emphasis on quantitative research.
- Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and team members.
- Proficiency in using software tools for data analysis and reporting.
- A solid understanding of risk assessment methodologies and underwriting guidelines.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- A degree in finance, business administration, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
