What you’ll do
- Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring accurate and timely transactions.
- Conduct account reconciliations, including bank reconciliation and general ledger reconciliation.
- Oversee payroll processing and ensure compliance with tax regulations.
- Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, or Sage for efficient bookkeeping and financial reporting.
- Perform financial analysis, including cash flow analysis and budgeting to support corporate finance initiatives.
- Mentor junior accounting staff, fostering their professional growth and development.
- Ensure adherence to regulatory reporting requirements and assist with auditing processes.
Experience
To excel in this role, you should possess:
- A degree in Accounting or Finance with a strong understanding of financial concepts.
- Proven experience in corporate accounting or public accounting environments.
- Familiarity with SOX compliance, securities law, and governmental accounting practices is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting tasks.
- Knowledge of non-profit accounting principles is a plus.
