Job Description

As a certified pharmacy technician, prepares, compounds, and dispenses medical orders/prescriptions under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist.

Essential Job Functions:

• Communicates effectively with customers and provide guidance for locating products or understanding services
• Accurately process transactions including cash, checks and credit cards while following SMCVH policies. 
• Restock shelves, update pricing, check in vendor deliveries, and maintain inventory systems
• May be expected to perform some clinical duties relating to the department
• May be required to assist pharmacist in retail and/or hospital pharmacy
• Performs a variety of tasks
• Typically reports to supervisor or manager
• Performs other related duties as assigned
• Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field
• Rely on experience and judgement to plan and accomplish goals
• Regular and predictable attendance is an essential job function
• Competent to meet age specific needs of the patients served
• Follows hospital exposure control plans/blood borne and airborne pathogens
• Maintains confidentiality of all hospital and patient information at all times. Follows HIPAA regulations and policies
• Regular and predictable attendance is an essential job function
• Communicate with co-workers in person, in writing and on telephone.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Graduate of a Pharmacy Technician Training program or equivalent work experience preferred
• Pharmacy Technician license with Idaho Board of Pharmacy required
• CPht required
• One year of experience as a Pharmacy Technician preferred
• Demonstrated ability to use computer skills including keyboarding and practical data entry into data based software programs.

Full time, 40 hours per week, located at Retail Pharmacy in Orofino.
