Job Title: Cleanroom Cleaning Technician (Janitorial Worker)
Job Description
The Cleanroom Cleaning Technician maintains a high level of cleanliness and organization in controlled manufacturing environments, including cleanrooms, gowning areas, airlocks, locker rooms, and support spaces. You follow detailed cleaning schedules, support contamination-control efforts, and ensure all work complies with safety standards, cGMP requirements, and site procedures. This role requires strong attention to detail, consistency, and the ability to work effectively as part of a production team.
Responsibilities
Perform daily cleanroom cleaning activities such as vacuuming, sticky rolling, trash removal, and cleaning cleanroom floors, gowning rooms, locker rooms, airlocks, and support areas.
Maintain cleanroom entry and gowning areas by removing trash, cleaning floors, using sticky rollers, removing layers from sticky mats, and ensuring mats are straight, undamaged, and properly positioned.
Clean and wipe down high-touch and assigned surfaces, including doors, door frames, handles, stainless-steel benches, computer desks, chairs, tables, power cords, racks, bins, carts, crates, glove storage containers, and cleanroom equipment surfaces.
Support contamination-control efforts by vacuuming or sticky rolling cleanroom floors, clean-side gowning areas, boxing airlocks, incoming airlocks, support areas, and small parts rooms, including edges, corners, vent areas, and other hard-to-reach areas.
Collect and dispose of garbage from cleanrooms, gowning rooms, locker rooms, and assigned support areas according to site waste-handling expectations.
Maintain assigned cleaning equipment and storage areas by checking vacuum hoses, changing vacuum bags, emptying trash, and keeping the mop closet clean and organized.
Perform weekly, monthly, and quarterly cleaning tasks, including mopping floors, walls, and ceilings; deep-cleaning airlock floors; wiping down vents; cleaning windows and airlock doors; and supporting scheduled equipment cleaning rotations.
Clean assigned equipment and machine areas by wiping exterior surfaces, vacuuming accessible areas, removing particulates from machines and totes, and cleaning around cable tie machines and cutting areas.
Identify visible particulates, damaged mats, clogged equipment, or areas requiring maintenance support, and promptly notify the appropriate team when issues are found.
Support scheduled deep-clean activities, including quarterly major machine cleaning where Maintenance Lockout is required.
Follow all applicable safety, cleanroom, gowning, and site procedures while working in controlled environments.
Adhere to safety standards, Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), company operating procedures, and policies at all times.
Maintain accurate documentation as tasks are being performed, including required cleaning and production records.
Participate in Practical Process Improvements (PPI) activities and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Work effectively to consistently meet goals as an individual and as part of a team, supporting overall production objectives.
Focus on personal development through timely completion of required training and proactive skill development.
Adhere to the established schedule to meet production goals while maintaining high quality standards in all work performed.
Work in a production environment to manufacture products, operate machinery, assemble tubing and connectors, and perform packaging and inspection in accordance with product blueprints and manufacturing drawings.
Use tools and equipment such as computers, calculators, measuring tools, assembly hand tools, bioprocess container machinery, and pallet jacks as required.
Apply strong attention to detail to ensure products meet quality standards by cooperating with upstream and downstream stations, implementing mutual inspection, identifying and correcting quality errors, and recording and reporting problems in a timely manner.
Record accurate documentation in Production Control Documents (PCD) as tasks are being performed.
Actively participate in Lean, Continuous Improvement, and 5S activities to enhance processes and maintain an organized work area.
Assist with training and mentoring co-workers to support team effectiveness and knowledge sharing.
Essential Skills
High School Diploma or GED.
Previous cleaning, janitorial, or housekeeping experience.
Ability to work in a cleanroom environment and consistently follow cleanroom PPE requirements, including face mask, full-body cleanroom suit, gloves, and other protective gear.
Ability to follow written cleaning schedules, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and Work Instruction Documents (WIDs).
Strong attention to detail to ensure cleanliness, contamination control, and product quality.
Ability to stand and work on feet for the majority of the shift.
Capability to perform repetitive tasks safely and accurately.
Ability to lift 25 pounds or more as part of routine duties.
Comfort working in a production and manufacturing environment with machinery and equipment.
Ability to maintain accurate documentation while performing tasks.
Willingness to follow safety standards and Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP).
Ability to work effectively as part of a team and communicate issues in a timely manner.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience in cleanroom cleaning or contamination-control environments.
Familiarity with Practical Process Improvements (PPI), Lean, Continuous Improvement, and 5S activities.
Experience using tools such as computers, calculators, measuring tools, assembly hand tools, bioprocess container machinery, and pallet jacks.
Experience in manufacturing, assembly, or production environments involving tubing, connectors, packaging, and inspection.
Demonstrated ability to mentor or assist in training co-workers.
Interest in ongoing professional development and completing training proactively.

Work Environment
