Bridgerland Technical College is seeking a Substitute Automation Technology Instructor to support our Automation Technology program in Logan, Utah. This flexible, as-needed position offers an exciting opportunity to share your technical expertise, mentor aspiring technicians, and make a meaningful impact on the future workforce. As a Substitute Automation Technology Instructor, you’ll step into a hands-on learning environment where students are developing the knowledge and skills needed to succeed in automation, robotics, industrial controls, and advanced manufacturing. Your experience and guidance will help ensure students continue receiving high-quality instruction and support whenever regular faculty members are unavailable. About Bridgerland Technical College Bridgerland Technical College is one of Utah’s eight technical colleges. We provide high-quality, technical education to those in the Bear River Region. We prepare students for successful careers through hands-on skills and learning opportunities. What You’ll Do As a Substitute Automation Technology Instructor, you’ll provide instructional support and help maintain a safe, engaging, and productive learning environment for students pursuing careers in automation and advanced manufacturing. Key responsibilities include:

Assisting students with curriculum questions, coursework, and hands-on learning activities.

Presenting organized learning opportunities aligned with approved course outlines and instructional objectives.

Supporting classroom, laboratory, and shop instruction as directed by faculty.

Maintaining accountability and supervision of students in classrooms, labs, and instructional areas.

Adapting equipment, materials, and demonstrations to support specific learning objectives.

Promoting professionalism, safety, and industry best practices.

Ensuring the safe use of instructional facilities, automation equipment, tools, and technology.

Maintaining an organized, productive, and disciplined learning environment.

Communicating effectively with students, faculty, and staff.

Assisting with administrative and clerical tasks as needed.

Supporting the overall success of the Automation Technology program and student learning experience.

What We’re Looking For The ideal candidate is a knowledgeable automation professional who is passionate about workforce development and helping students succeed. Preferred Qualifications

Experience in automation technology, industrial maintenance, robotics, mechatronics, PLC programming, controls systems, manufacturing, or a related field.

Knowledge of industrial automation systems, electrical controls, troubleshooting, and advanced manufacturing processes.

Previous teaching, training, mentoring, or supervisory experience is preferred.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to effectively explain technical concepts and support hands-on student learning.

Commitment to maintaining a safe, professional, and student-focused learning environment.

Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.

Basic computer proficiency, including email and standard office software applications.

Ability to work effectively with students from diverse backgrounds and experience levels.
