We maintain a diverse fleet of on-road gravel trucks, heavy construction equipment, and support tools, and we’re looking for a skilled, hands-on mechanic to keep everything running safely and efficiently.

Position Summary We are seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Yard Mechanic to perform preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on our fleet of over-the-road gravel trucks and typical construction iron. • Troubleshoot and repair heavy equipment including excavators, skid steers, wheel loaders, rollers, telehandlers, and smaller tools/attachments
  • Conduct welding repairs and fabrication as needed
  • Maintain accurate service records and parts usage logs
  • Operate telehandlers, skid steers, loaders, and other equipment for testing and yard movement
  • Keep the shop and yard organized, clean, and safe
  • Assist with emergency repairs or priority breakdowns when needed

Required Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience maintaining over-the-road trucks (gravel/dump trucks preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of diesel engines, pneumatic systems, hydraulic systems, air brakes, and electrical diagnostics
  • Hands-on experience servicing construction equipment (excavators, skid steers, loaders, rollers, telehandlers, etc.)
  • Ability to safely operate telehandlers and the equipment listed above
  • Comfortable working independently in a yard/shop environment with limited supervision
  • Own set of personal hand tools, battery-operated tools, and pneumatic tools (company provides air compressors, welders, lifts, and larger shop equipment)

Preferred (but not required)

  • Welding and fabrication experience (MIG/TIG/stick)
  • Electrical diagnostic experience (multimeter, wiring diagrams, CAN bus basics)
  • Familiarity with heavy truck diagnostic software or scan tools

What We Offer.

  • 4-day work week (10-hour shifts) with extended weekends
  • Overtime opportunities when needed
  • Work in a supportive, small-team environment
  • Opportunity to grow with a growing local company
