ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES AND PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Safety & Compliance
- Comply with all OSHA, plant safety, food safety, and GMP requirements
- Properly use required PPE at all times
- Participate in safety training, maintenance training, and continuous improvement activities
- Assist Maintenance Technicians with routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs of production and facility equipment
- Support scheduled preventive maintenance activities by following established PM procedures and checklists
- Perform basic mechanical tasks such as lubrication, belt changes, part replacements, cleaning, and adjustments under supervision
- Assist with equipment changeovers, start ups, and shutdowns as directed
- Report equipment abnormalities, malfunctions, or safety concerns to Maintenance Technicians or Supervisors
- Assist in troubleshooting basic mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, or hydraulic issues as skill level allows
- Help prepare tools, parts, and materials needed for maintenance tasks
- Complete assigned work orders and PM documentation accurately and on time
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of maintenance shops, work areas, and equipment
- Follow all lockout/tagout (LOTO), food safety, and sanitation procedures
- Work in confined spaces and elevated areas when properly trained
- Perform other maintenance related duties as assigned to support plant operations
- On-the-job training provided by experienced Maintenance Technicians and Supervisors

Education:
- High School Diploma/GED or equivalent work-related experience.
- Technical coursework or enrollment in an industrial maintenance, mechanical, or electrical program preferred
- Previous manufacturing, mechanical, construction, farm, or maintenance experience preferred but not required
- Entry-level candidates with strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn are encouraged to apply
- Basic mechanical aptitude and interest in industrial maintenance
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Willingness to learn mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Strong work ethic, dependability, and safety awareness
- Ability to work a rotating 12-hour shift schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Must possess strength, stamina, and mobility to regularly perform heavy physical work outdoors in all weather conditions and with exposure to potentially hazardous conditions.
- Excessive ascending and/or descending of ladders and stairs using feet and legs and/or hands and arms on a regular basis. Body agility is emphasized.
- Walking: Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances on a continuous basis.
- Repetitive motions: Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers on a continuous basis.
- Stooping: Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist on a regular basis.
- Kneeling: Bending legs at knee to come to a rest on knee or knees.
- Crouching: Regularly bending the body downward and forward by bending leg and spine continuously.
- Talking: Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. Includes activities in which they must convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly.
- Lifting: Able to lift up to 100lbs occasionally, up to 50lbs regularly.
- The worker is subject to both environmental conditions: Activities occur inside and outside.
- Environmental exposure to warehouses stored at ambient (60-70° F), refrigerated (35° F), and frozen (minus 20° F) temperatures, as well as potential exposure to temperatures at or above 120° F.
- There is sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout to be heard above the ambient noise level.
- Subject up to at least 92db's.
