As a Wildland Firefighter, you will play a crucial role in protecting natural resources, property, and lives from the threat of wildfires. Duties
- Respond to wildland fire emergencies and assist in firefighting operations.
- Operate and maintain firefighting equipment and tools.
- Perform heavy lifting and physically demanding tasks during fire suppression efforts.
- Conduct assessments of fire behavior and report findings to team leaders.
- Participate in training exercises to enhance firefighting skills and safety protocols.
- Provide basic life support and first aid as needed during emergency situations.
- Maintain clear communication with team members regarding operational strategies and safety measures.
- Assist with public education on fire prevention techniques.
Qualifications
- Mechanical knowledge to operate and troubleshoot firefighting equipment is preferred.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting (up to 50 pounds) consistently throughout shifts.
- Valid commercial driving license is a plus for operating larger firefighting vehicles.
- Strong teamwork skills with the ability to work effectively under pressure in a variety of conditions.
