Weekend Only Fri-Mon - Maintenance Tech (Lumberton)

Idaho Forest Group, Southern Division, is currently seeking a Weekend Maintenance Technician to join our team at our state-of-the-art lumber manufacturing facility in Lumberton, Mississippi.

The Weekend Maintenance Technician is responsible for completing planned predictive, preventative and corrective maintenance on industrial mechanical equipment within the mill. This includes maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing conveyors, pumps, motors, gearboxes, drive arrangement, pneumatic, hydraulics, and other critical systems used in lumber manufacturing operations. The Weekend Maintenance Technician ensures that equipment operates reliably, efficiently and safely to minimize downtime and support continuous production. We offer a full-time, 40-hour per weekend maintenance position with opportunities for advancement, skill development, and career growth. Alternate shift schedules are available, providing flexibility while maintaining consistent full-time hours. Qualified applicants may also be eligible for relocation opportunities based on company needs and available positions.

Essential Functions

• Perform all duties in accordance with company policies, safety rules, regulations, Job Safety Analyses (JSAs), and established procedures.
• Follow all safety protocols and promptly identify and report hazards to maintain a safe work environment.
• Prepare machine centers and equipment for daily operation.
• Perform predictive, preventive, and corrective maintenance on manufacturing equipment and facility systems using hand tools, power tools, cutting equipment, and welding equipment.
• Assemble, install, troubleshoot, and repair equipment using blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
• Utilize the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to document work orders, maintenance activities, and equipment history.
• Participate in root cause analysis (RCA) activities to identify and eliminate recurring equipment failures.
• Complete required maintenance training and actively participate in developmental programs to enhance skills and advance within the maintenance department.
• Maintain productivity standards while delivering high-quality workmanship.
• Work safely at varying heights and in industrial environments.
• Provide and maintain personal tools necessary to perform maintenance duties effectively.
• Collaborate effectively with operations personnel, electricians, engineers, and other trades to support production and maintenance objectives.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with team members, supervisors, and other departments.
• Work various shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime as required to support operational needs.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 4,000 hours of verifiable industrial maintenance mechanic experience required.
• Certification in hydraulics and pneumatics, crane and rigging, and wire and stick welding required.
• Proficient in power transmission systems, welding, bearings, and lubrication practices.
• Working knowledge of industrial equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair.

• Knowledge of OSHA regulations and applicable state safety requirements.
• Proficient computer skills – Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook.
• High School Diploma or GED
• Valid Driver’s License

Physical Requirements

Must be able to work safely and efficiently in a physically demanding environment involving repetitive movement. Regularly sit, stand, walk, bend, kneel, squat, twist, reach, push, pull, maintain balance, and climb stairs throughout the shift.

• Frequent stair climbing.
• Frequent repetitive use of shoulders, arms, wrists, and hands to grip, turn, and manipulate objects of varying sizes, shapes, and weights.
• Frequent bending, kneeling, and reaching.
• Frequent pushing and pulling of up to 20 lbs. at a 30-inch working height.
• Occasional walking over short distances.
• Occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs. from floor level to a 30-inch working height.
• Occasional pushing, pulling, or lifting of up to 100 lbs. to a 30-inch working height using equipment such as a dolly or hoist.

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:

Must be able to tolerate extreme hot, humid, cold, and outdoor conditions. Comfortable working in loud environment, around moving machinery, with vibrations and airborne particles (sawdust).
