What are the responsibilities and job description for the Food Pantry Coordinator position at Idaho Falls Rescue Mission?
Idaho Falls Rescue Mission (IFRM) is a gospel rescue mission that exists to provide Help, Hope and a Future to the Hungry, Homeless and Hopeless in our community through the power and Love of Jesus Christ. Must be able to work 24 hours a week, have a heart for people, be reliable, ability to prioritize duties with limited supervision. This position will be five days a week but only four hours per day. Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday from 2:30 pm to 6:30 pm.
This position will start as "skilled entry level". Duties include processing incoming donations, maintaining proper inventory levels and assisting the Food Service Coordinator in various duties.
Successful applicants will be able to work the available shifts, have a high level of personal integrity, as well as a level of professional maturity, hands - on computer skills, organizational ability, be a team player and an innovator, able to communicate clearly both written and verbally, and be flexible. Experience in Rescue Mission or comparable field of work is appreciated, but not required.
DUTIES ANDRESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform preventative maintenance checks on all kitchen equipment to ensure proper
- Operate all food services in compliance with established health and safety standards including Serv-Safe, USDA,OSHA and Public Health.
- Accurately report daily meal count.
- Manage the maintenance of inventory and storage of all consumables.
- Be prepared to provide emergency meals if a volunteer cancels services with minimal notice.
- Receive and record donations according to IFRM policy and procedure.
- Rotate the community bread racks to ensure freshness of food.
- Cook/prepare meals when needed.
- Able to lift heavy boxes and navigate stairs for several hours at a time.
- Pick up food from venders and donors.
- Any other tasks as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:
- Experience in food inventory and/or pantry organization
- Current Serv-Safe certification holder.
- Ministry mindset, mature Christian, able to model servant-leadership
- Knowledge of proper food handling and safety
- Good teaching and training skills, conceptually and practically
- Interpersonal skills, able to effectively communicate and relate with diverse groups of people
Shift Available:
Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday from 2:30 pm to 6:30 pm (4 hrs per day)

Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
